Toronto is the most populous and most well-known city in Canada. It is known by various nicknames such as “T.O.,” “Hogtown,” “T-Dot,” “The Queen City,” “Toronto the Good,” “The Big Smoke,” and “The City Within a Park.”
The city has been known worldwide for being one of the major scenes for performing arts and theatre events. In fact, it boasts of having more or less fifty dance and ballet companies, two symphony orchestras and a number of theatres. In addition, one of the structures in the city, the Ontario Place, is known for having the first fixed IMAX movie theatre.
Although entertainment seems to be at the heart of Toronto, the city also has other points of interest that have caught the attention of many people around the world. Some of these attractions include the CN Tower, Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto Zoo, Ontario Science Centre, Don Valley Brick Works and Exhibition Place. Festivals observed in the city include the Toronto International Film Festival, Taste of Danforth Festival and Canadian National Exhibition.
