Toledo, well known to be the “Glass City” due to its many industries that involve glass, is a city within the Great Lakes Region in Ohio. It was named after the City of Toledo in Spain.
There are many attractions in Toleda that draw a good number of tourists to its limits every year. The city is home to the Stranahan Theater which is considered to be a major concert hall, the Collingwood Arts Center, the internationally acclaimed Toledo Museum of Art, the Toledo Zoo with its hippoquarium-style exhibit, the R.A. Stranahan Arboretum, the historic Mansion View Inn, and the Veteran´s Glass City Skyway. Other attractions in the city include the Anthony Wayne Bridge, the Toledo Metroparks where the Toledo Botanical Garden belongs, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Plaza, and the hands-on Science Museum called the Imagination Station.
Toledo City is home to several industrial landmarks and companies, three of which are listed on the Fortune 500, namely Owens Corning, Dana Corporation and Owens Illinois. There are also major automobile makers in the city including General Motors and Chrysler.
