Ottawa is the capital municipality of Canada. It is located along the southern banks of Ottawa River and has gained the distinction of being the fourth largest municipality in the country. Majority of the residents are of Christian denominations while there are few percentages of locals practicing Islam, Judaism and Buddhism. Due to the rule disallowing the construction of skyscrapers, the skyline in the city has remained conservative to the specified maximum height of skyscrapers.
Each year, a number of tourists flock to Ottawa, not only to go on vacations but to witness and take part in the festivals celebrated in the city. Some of these festivals include the Canadian Tulip Festival, Canada Day, Winterlude Festival and other events.
Apart from the yearly festivals, interesting points of interest in the city that attract tourists include the Canadian Golf and Country Club, Canadian Museum of Civilization, Canadian War Museum, Diefenbunker, Dominion Arboretum, Laurier House, Rideau Hall, Royal Canadian Mint, 24 Sussex Drive, Bytown Museum, Canada Aviation Museum, Byward Market, and Canada Science and Technology Museum.
