Born in a single day, Oklahoma City was a result of the Great Land Run of 1889. What used to be an empty railroad station became claimed land by people racing across on foot, bikes, wagons and horseback settling the unclaimed land. Ten thousand residents became new land owners and it was three years later that Oklahoma became a state with Oklahoma City being its capital. Oklahoma State is a state in the South Central region of the United States of America. With approximately 3,617,316 residents in 2007 and 68,667 square miles of land area, Oklahoma is both the twentieth largest state and the twenty-eighth most populous.

Its main products include agriculture, natural gas and oil Oklahoma later received a lot of headlines when a 1995 bombing of a federal building claimed a hundred sixty-eight lives. Busy reinventing itself since then, Bricktown entertainment district has since become the state´s most popular destinations. Attractions include the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum as well as Red Earth, the Oklahoma History Center´s annual event.
