Oftentimes shortened to simply L. A. or "The City of Angels" spans over 498.3 miles in Southern California and has an estimated population of 12.9 million residents. Known as the "Entertainment Capital of the World", Los Angeles is the world´s leader in the production of motion pictures, recorded music and television and has the biggest center for manufacturing in the world. It is also a world´s leading center for entertainment, culture, international trade, business, fashion, science, technology and culture, it is the home base of Hollywood.

Its Mediterranean climate gives an average of 263 sunny days a year and 35 days of annual precipitation.
