Long Beach is an urban city known for being the home of one of the world´s largest shipping ports, the Port of Long Beach. Other than having a large underground and offshore oil industry and numerous aerospace (such as Boeing and Gulfstream Aerospace) and other high-technology industries, Long Beach is also a popular tourist destination.

The city is famous for being the location of numerous movies due to its proximity to L.A. studios and as it is a zone which allows movies to be created at a relatively cheaper rate. Some of the most recent movies filmed at Long Beach include the “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” and “Gone in Sixty Seconds.”

Visitors to Long Beach should not miss the RMS Queen Mary which is an art deco ocean liner that has been converted to a hotel and museum and is permanently docked at Long Beach. Other area attractions include the Aquarium of the Pacific, El Dorado Nature Center, Recreation Park, the Long Beach Green Belt, the historic Rancho Los Cerritos as well as Rancho Los Alamitos, the Walter Pyramid, the Long Beach Museum of Art, and the East Village Arts District.
