Las Vegas is considered the most populated city in the state of Nevada with a population of 1,865,746 in 2008. It is a world-wide major resort-filled metropolis for shopping, fine dining, entertainment and gambling. The seat of Clark County, Las Vegas is called not called The Entertainment Capital of the World for nothing. The Las Vegas Strip is where the largest casino, resort and hotel properties in the whole world can be found. Situated in on the dry dessert Clark County floor, the city is surrounded by mountains.

The climate is hot and dry typical of the Mojave Desert in which it lies. Tourism is an ongoing business here with the major attractions being the casinos. A glittering skyline unlike any other shocks even the most jaded of tourists. The Sphinx, a pyramid, a giant Lion and the Statue of Liberty beside it creates a festive atmosphere each and every night. Notorious for its glittering neon lights and accompanying fast-paced night-life, Las Vegas is a featured setting in many movies and is known the world over. What often comes to mind for many when talking about Las Vegas is a well-known saying "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" having become a popular by-line since.
