Jacksonville, the largest city in Florida, the United States, has many varied attractions to offer to its tourists and guests not just due of its large size but also because it is located along major water forms such as St. Johns River and the Atlantic Ocean. It is often dubbed as the “River City” aside from its more obvious nicknames of “Jax” and “J-ville”.

The city of Jacksonville also has the largest urban park system in the U.S. Many of these parks provide recreational activity options for its residents and tourists such as boating, swimming, surfing, waterskiing and picnicking. Some of these parks include the Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens, the Jacksonville-Baldwin Rail Trail, and Kids Kampus which is especially dedicated to families with young children.

Tourists should also see the Treaty Oak which is a massive 250-year-old tree located at downtown Jesse Ball Dupont Park. The city is also visited for its Friendship Fountain, a distinct fountain promoted to be the world´s tallest and largest fountain located in St. Johns River Park (also called Friendship Park). Other tourist attractions in Jacksonville are the Shipwreck Island (waterpark), Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, and Jacksonville Landing.
