Hartford, the capital of Connecticut, is one of the oldest cities in the United States, nearly 400 years old. The city is known for being the headquarters of many worldwide insurance companies, thus, dubbed as the “Insurance Capital of the World.”

Old Wethersfield is an original portion of the city that is home to more than 100 homes built before the Civil War broke out. Other places of historical significance in the city include the Old State House, the Mark Twain House and Museum, and the Harriet Beecher Stowe House and Library.
