El Paso, also known as “El Chuco”, is a popular tourist destination city and county seat of El Paso County in Texas, United States. The warm climate of the city makes it popular for tourists seeking diversion especially during winters in their hometowns. In fact, the city has an average of 302 days of sunshine per year, thus, it is aptly dubbed as the “Sun City”.
The city is home to majority of the Franklin Mountains State Park which is the largest urban park in the U.S. It is bordered by the Rio Grande River and has volcanic features such as the Mt. Cristo Rey volcanic peak, and two Maar volcanic craters called Kilbourne Hole and Hunt´s Hole.
As a tourist destination, El Paso has plenty of sites of interest to offer. Some of these are the Gene Roddenberry Planetarium, Centennial Museum and Chihuahuan Desert Gardens, the McKelligon Canyon at the Franklin Mountains, The Tigua of Ysleta del Sur Pueblo Nation, Wet and Wild Water World, and Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino.
