Dusseldorf is a German city; it is the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia and is located in the most populous metropolitan area of the country, the Rhein-Ruhr Area. According to the Mercer´s 2009 Quality and Living survey, it is the top city in Germany – and the 6th worldwide – for cities with the highest quality of life.

Dusseldorf is well-known for a hoppy beer called "Altbier" which means "old style beer". Such a beer was documented around the 1800s and could distinctly be linked to the area due to its color, taste, and the use of the pre-lager brewing method.

Today, Dusseldorf is also noted to be among Germany´s most prominent political cabarets while being able to produce musicians and notable people, too – with the most famous contribution being that of the band Kraftwerk.
