The City of Corpus Christi is a coastal city in Texas, which is also known with its nickname “The Sparkling City by the Sea.” Its name is the Latin of the “Body of Christ”, a name given by the Spanish in honor of the Blessed Sacrament (the Eucharist).

Corpus Christi has numerous landmarks and attractions that appeal to locals and tourists. Some of these are the Texas State Aquarium, the USS Lexington Museum on the Bay which was part of the Pearl Harbor film set, Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, Harbor Playhouse Theatre, South Texas Institute for the Arts, Texas Surf Museum, Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens and Nature Center, and the Hans and Pat Suter Wildlife Refuge.

The city celebrates the annual Buccaneer Days Carnival which draws a lot of visitors. There are also numerous shopping centers, restaurants, and business establishments located all over Corpus Christi that cater to the needs of residents as well as tourists.
