Colorado Springs or simply “The Springs” is a city located at the foothills of Pikes Peaks which is considered to be among the most famous mountains in the US. It is not only a popular destination for tourists but is also considered to be among the “Best Places to Live” as it was ranked first in 2006 by Money magazine.

The city is popularly known for its Garden of the Gods which features natural geologic formations of various sizes, shapes, and colors. It is also home to numerous fossils of marine forms, dinosaurs and plants. Other attractions and landmarks in Colorado Springs City include the Pioneers Museum, Fort Carson which is the largest military base in the city, the Cave of the Winds, the Seven Falls, Peterson Air and Space Museum, the Cheyenne Mountain Heritage Center, and the statue of the city´s founder, General William Palmer, located in front of the Palmer High School.

Colorado Springs is also notable for being the home of the United States Olympic Committee and the United States Olympic Training Center.
