Calgary is known as the largest city in Alberta, Canada. It is located along the high plains and foothills of the Canadian Rockies and is known for having the third largest civic municipality in terms of population in the country.
The city is often visited by tourists and vacationers who want to enjoy skiing, ski jumping, snowboarding and other winter sports. This is mainly because of its close proximity to the Rocky Mountains. However, this does not necessarily mean that summer sports are entirely out of the picture. In fact, fly fishing, golfing and other non-winter activities can also be enjoyed.
Apart from the snow white hills of the Rocky Mountains and ski resorts, there are also other points of interest in Calgary such as the Chinese Cultural Centre, Devonian Gardens, Dragon City Mall, Glenbow Museum, Millennium Park, Olympic Plaza, Palliser Hotel, Stephen Avenue, Plus 15 and other attractions. Festivals observed in Calgary also add to the excitement with events such as the Kiwanis Music Festival, Civic Remembrance Day, Calgary International Film Festival, International Festival of Animated Objects, Greek Festival, Expo Latino, Wordfest Banff-Calgary International Writers Festival and Lilac Festival.
